Winter Crop Insurance Meeting

Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial are hosting a Winter Crop Meeting on January 17, 2020 at the Farm Bureau building in Henry.

COUNTRY Financial Crop Agency Manager Doug Yoder and University of Illinois agricultural economist and farm management specialist Gary Schnitkey will give a Farm Bill and crop insurance update. Also presenting will be Brad Clow, COUNTRY Financial Crop Operations Manager, who will give a drone presentation and crop claims update.

The Farm Bill session will provide farmers and landowners the information they will need to make their elections for the new farm bill. This update will include changes to the ARC and PLC options, PLC updated yields, enhanced enrollment flexibility, sign-up deadlines, and illustration on how to use the University of Illinois’ farmdoc ARC/PLC tool.

During the drone session you will learn what an aerial view of your crops can provide and how the crop team is helping clients identify other crop needs. The drone program is a time-saving tool for adjusters and provides security and a first-hand view of damage/non-damage for the farmer.

Registration and a light lunch will begin at noon with the program starting at 12:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend, however, reservations will be required. To reserve you spot, contact your COUNTRY Financial agent or the Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau office at 309-364-2501. The deadline to register is January 10.
