Representative Stephanie Kifowit visits M-P counties

On September 25, 2015, Representative Stephanie Kifowit (Oswego) visited Marshall and Putnam Counties.  Her visit was a part of the Adopt a Legislator Program that the Illinois Farm Bureau has sponsored for a number of years.  The program helps to bridge relationships with urban legislators and rural residents of the state. Representative Kifowit brought along a summer intern and her daughter for the tour.  The tour began at Putnam County Primary School in Granville where we sat and visited with Representative Frank Mautino (Spring Valley) and Superintendent of Schools Jay McCracken.  From there, we headed to Marquis Energy for a tour of the newly expanded ethanol plant and river operations.  Jeff Peterson, VP and Commodity Risk Manager of Marquis was our guide.  The group then drove to ADM Grain in Hennepin and toured the elevator with Jeff Mauck, Regional Manager, Jeff Janusick, Regional Operations Manager and Dan Trone, Plant Superintendent.  After the tour, we stopped at the MPFB for a quick lunch and discussion with our members and headed to MPFB Board Member Randy Salisbury’s farm for a combine ride that ended the day.  The Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau would like to say thank you to everyone that assisted in order to make the day possible!
